About me
Nat Belacse Welch is a multidisciplinary artist born in Cebu, Philippines, and based between Los Angeles and Salt Lake City. Working primarily in oil paint, they approach image-making through a lens of accumulation.
Objects, fragments of conversations, old photographs, and symbolic references are carefully sourced, composed, and overlapped, creating visual spaces where vulnerability and social commentary exist simultaneously. Their work reflects an ongoing interest in the ways memory is preserved, edited, and reconstructed, inviting viewers to consider how ordinary moments become records of who we are and the world we inhabit.
Their has been exhibited at institutions including the Springville Museum of Art, Tanya Leighton Gallery and Finch Lane Gallery, and is held in the Salt Lake County Arts Collection and Mixi Art Studio Collection.
